Parents Want to Know...

Why should I send my child to incub8's clubs instead of the local coding group at a school or the library?

Learning restrictions in schools and public spaces are great and varied: internet speeds, access to latest generation technology and lack of effective learning management software.

At Incub8 you will find:

  • Commercial grade optic-fibre internet speeds
  • A fully interactive 75-inch, 4k smart panel technology display
  • A secure online learning management system for parents to track learning progress
  • Premium robotics kits
  • A bank of high quality 3D printers
  • Latest generation iPads, Macbooks and PCs
  • VR/AR technology
  • A purpose-built, secure maker space
  • A row of high grade design consoles

Who will teach my child?

Our teachers are passionate about technology and have receive extensive training in their specific fields. Our development team has collectively 100+ years of technology education experience.

Can I book in the middle of a school term?

Yes, absolutely. You can book anytime throughout a school term providing there is a seat available at a time that suits your schedule. A ‘Term’ at incub8 consists of any consecutive 8 weeks block (with allowances for school holiday breaks). Because we offer a club with self-paced courseware and not a fixed course, your child can start at anytime throughout the year.

Does my child need to bring a computer or an iPad?

Students don’t need to bring a thing. At Incub8, we provide all technology, including latest generation iPads and MacBook Air computers for each student. They can carry their work home online through Moodle.

How many hours per week can my child attend the CIY.Club meetings at incub8?

Our learning packages include up to 4 hours per week, anywhere between 1 and 4 days a week. Each student is assigned a course key to the incub8 Learning Management System. On the LMS students can be given individual learning pathways which consist of at home projects, research assignments, access to student/teacher forums, records of progress and exam preparation exercises.

How long will it take for my child to complete all the achievement levels of CIY.Club?

The courseware is designed in a self-paced format. This means that, assuming no prior knowledge, students can expect anything between a few semesters or 10 full years of learning runway between the ages of 7 and 17 years.

Is there a way to track my child’s progress?

Incub8 uses a secure learning management system for parents to track the learning pathways and progress of their kids.

How many students will be in each class?

We’re proud to have a 1:8 teacher to student ratio that ensures every student is always getting the support they need. The maximum class size is 16 students.

What safety measures do you have in place?

Safety is among our top priorities at Incub8 and the centre is in a secure building. All staff have Working with Children Checks, are trained for emergencies and we always have certified First Aid on-site.

Can I drop my child off and pick them up once they’re done learning for the day?

Children are required to be signed in and out of class by a registered guardian without fail and should arrive 10 mins before their club start time. The incub8 education campus at Hornsby is a secure building which is monitored by 24/7 CCTV with all teachers certified in first AID and with working with children checks in place.
